Little Falls has several fantastic attractions for tourists to explore, but some of them are only open for a short time. Find out which attractions you should cross of your bucket list this summer before they close again for the winter season.
The Charles Lindbergh House & Museum is very popular among locals and tourists alike. With tours on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., visitors can take a guided tour through the famous aviator’s boyhood home, hear stories of his childhood, and learn how a dream took flight! After the tour, guests can then make their way to the museum to peruse and interact with the displays, catch a film, and find out more about his nonstop transatlantic flight, family, and other pursuits. The house and museum are open from late May to early September with openings for special events such as the Little Falls Christmas Tours.
If you’re interested in history and historic homes, then you’ll want to take a tour at Linden Hill Historic Estate. The Weyerhaeuser home (green) is available Memorial Day – Labor Day from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Thursday – Friday and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays. All of the artifacts in the home belonged to the families between 1890-1989 with more of them being uncovered every day! This mansion tour offers a unique look into the original owners’ lives with some unique treasures and history. The Musser mansion is available for large group tours, lodging, and events. Both homes will be open for the Little Falls Christmas Tours.
For our animal lovers, we have the magnificent Pine Grove Zoo. Open daily in the summer from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., visitors can see incredible creatures such as zebras, otters, tigers, and so much more up close! Feed the Prairie Dogs as they run about their enclosure, pet goats at the stable, grab a snack at the Cougar Café, and don’t forget to purchase a souvenir on your way out. In the summer, they offer a wide variety of presentations, encounters, and educational programs for kids. The zoo usually opens in Mid-April and closes early October with the exception of BooFest into late October.
