Fun for the Whole Family!

Little Falls is home to a wide variety of exciting attractions and activities, many of which are kid-friendly. We have lots of fun indoor and outdoor options for families to spend the day in Little Falls as well as exciting events and programs to check out!

Indoor Activities

For those looking for indoor options, we have a vast selection of places you can take your family. A fantastic option for kids and adults alike is Great River Arts (GRA). Not only is this an art gallery that is free and open to the public with art displays that are changed every couple of months, it also has tons of youth and adult classes all year round! GRA offers art classes to help kids and adults learn new mediums, practice their passions, and share their talents. They also offer concerts that are family-friendly as well as theater lessons and camps for kids and teens.

Another great option for families is bowling at Bennington’s Entertainment Center. Open everyday of the week, families can bowl and enjoy delicious food. And, special for kids this summer, is the Summer Fun Bowling Pass. Register your kids online and they will be able to play two games of bowling a day for free for the entire summer (this does not include shoe rental which is $3)!

The Little Falls Carnegie Library is also a wonderful stop. The library has an entire floor dedicated to kids which includes books, toys, movies, and coloring sheets. They also have a large number of youth and teen programs that happen year round including discussion groups, game nights, movie nights, story times, concerts, and so much more!

Outdoor Activities

Little Falls has a number of beautiful and fun parks for kids to explore. A popular playground is the Little Falls Area Recreation Complex (ARC). It has a handful of slides, monkey bars, swings, a zip line, and other fun equipment for kids to climb, explore, and play on. Your family can also enjoy lunch in a shaded area at one of the picnic tables.

For kids who love animals, the Pine Grove Zoo is always a spectacular option. Not only can kids explore the zoo and its many inhabitants such as the otters, tigers, zebras, prairie dogs, etc., but the zoo also offers several programs and passes for children. Some fun programs kids can look forward to this summer are animal encounters, discovery tours, safari adventures, camps, and so much more! The zoo also offers special memberships for individuals and families that include free admission to the zoo, events, discounts, and more depending on which membership you get. They even have packages for adopting zoo animals that include pictures of your chosen animal, zoo passes, a plushie of your selected animal, an adoption certificate, and more depending on the package you chose.

Little Falls also has a number of fun walking and biking trails. Touright Bicycle Shop has bikes, burley trailers, and Adam’s trail-a-bike available for rent as well as e-bikes, bikes, scooters, and more for purchase! Gather your gear and hit the trails!

Events

Little Falls always has new and upcoming events, many of which are family-friendly. Of course, we have the many wonderful programs from the businesses and organizations throughout the area, but Little Falls also has a number of events every summer for kids and families. Markets and Music on the Mississippi is a free event that will be on July 27th from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. with vendors, food, and live music for all to enjoy! The Little Falls Dam Festival is celebrating 20 years this year on June 16th-17th and will have food, fun activities, a parade, fireworks, and, new this year, the Dam North Market. And, coming next month and running all summer long is our Charmed Bike Ride event. Collect all the charms and you can get entered to win a bike! More events can be found on our website.
