As the snow (hopefully) melts and spring settles in Little Falls, people are eager to take their furry friends out and about, but where are pets allowed? Where can they get a tasty treat and lodging? In this post, we’ll share some of our favorite places where your four-legged companions are welcome.
Little Falls is home to several stunning, pet-friendly parks, but a few of our favorites are the trails out at Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, the Charles A. Lindbergh State Park, and Pine Tree Park.
Crane Meadows is perfect for first-time hikers as the Platte River Hiking Trail is comprised of three loops of varying distances. The trail provides stunning views of the protected habitats and will lead you along the banks of the Platte River.
Charles A. Lindbergh State Park is another wonderful location with trails to follow and gorgeous views to see. Visitors can stop for a picnic at the enclosed log-cabin shelter, rent a canoe and explore Pike Creek, and, for those wishing to stay, they can set up camp in the campgrounds. The park has electric, non-electric, cart-in/canoe-in, and group sites available.
Another great park is Pine Tree Park. It has a playground on one end and a dog park on the other. The dog park is a fenced-in area for your pets to roam that has picnic tables and a watering station. You can find more information about these parks and others in the area here.
While you’re in Little Falls with your furry pal, you might be looking for some pet-friendly dining options. A great location is the Starry Eyed Brewing Company. Pets are welcome inside where they can stop and get a drink of water as well as outside where they can sit with you at a picnic table while you enjoy some drinks and a pizza from the brewery. We also enjoy taking our pets to Caribou Coffee and Dairy Queen for a famous pup cup! Dairy Queen also has outdoor seating, so you can sit with your pet and enjoy your treat together in the sun.
There are several places where you and your pet can stay overnight in Little Falls. We mentioned camping out at Charles A. Lindbergh State Park. Some other lodging locations that allow pets are the Country Inn & Suites, Clifwood Motel, and Super 8. Each location has its perks and they are all near some of our favorite pet-friendly spots! The Country Inn & Suites is just off Highway 10 and the closest lodging to Crane Meadows. The Clifwood Motel is just down the road from Pine Tree Park and Super 8 is right next to Caribou Coffee!
